As a vibrant, fast-paced food manufacturer, we employ 13,300 colleagues across 16 manufacturing units and 17 distribution depots nationwide. We supply a wide range of food products, including sandwiches, soups, sushi, cooking sauces, pickles, and ready meals, generating revenues of £1.8bn in FY24.

Our extensive direct-to-store (DTS) distribution network, consisting of 17 depots, enables over 10,500 daily deliveries of our own and third-party chilled and frozen produce.

Our Warrington site, known as the Italian centre of excellence, has recently expanded and invested in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. We produce high-quality Italian ready meals for Tesco and Co-Op.

What you'll be doing

PM Shift - 17:00 - 00:30, Monday to Friday (Factory-based role)

Your responsibilities include delivering and implementing service improvements aligned with operational needs, focusing on safety, quality, legality, and customer requirements:

• Implement the quality management system and internal audit plan to ensure compliance with customer, legislative, divisional, and strategic requirements.
• Support external audits by providing information and demonstrating operational practices to meet customer standards.
• Develop the capability of production teams through technical strategies.
• Monitor departmental KPIs to ensure targets are met.
• Plan and manage resource utilization for quality assurance tasks.
• Lead projects to enhance business effectiveness and cost efficiency.

Requirements include:

• Degree-level education with a Food specialism or equivalent experience.
• Previous internal audit experience.
• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3 and Level 3 Health and Safety qualifications.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in computer programs such as Word, Excel, and related IT packages.
• Knowledge of HACCP principles and practices.
• Awareness of allergen implications, labelling, and nutritional information.
• Experience with shelf-life determination.
• Understanding of hygiene and disinfection principles.
