We are a vibrant, fast-paced food manufacturer employing 13,300 colleagues across 16 manufacturing units and 17 distribution depots nationwide. We supply the UK's food retailers with products ranging from sandwiches, soups, and sushi to cooking sauces, pickles, and ready meals. In FY24, we generated revenues of £1.8bn.

Our extensive direct-to-store (DTS) distribution network, comprising 17 depots, enables over 10,500 daily deliveries of our chilled and frozen products, including those of third parties.

Our Warrington site, also known as the Italian centre of excellence, has recently expanded and invested in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. We produce high-quality Italian ready meals for Tesco and Co-Op.

What you'll be doing

PM Shift - 17:00 - 00:30, Monday to Friday (Factory-based role)

Responsibilities include delivering and implementing service improvements aligned with operational needs concerning safety, quality, legality, and customer requirements:

1. Implement the quality management system and internal audit plan to ensure compliance with customer, legislative, divisional, and strategic standards.
2. Provide information and demonstrate operational practices during external audits to meet customer requirements.
3. Develop the capability of production teams through the technical strategy.
4. Monitor departmental KPIs to ensure targets are met.
5. Plan and maintain resource utilization, advising on quality assurance tasks.
6. Lead projects to enhance business effectiveness and cost efficiency.

Requirements include:

• Degree-level education with a Food specialism or equivalent experience.
• Previous internal audit experience.
• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3 and Level 3 Health and Safety qualifications.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in computer programs including Word, Excel, and related IT packages.
• Knowledge of HACCP principles and practices.
• Awareness of allergens, labelling, and nutritional considerations.
• Experience in shelf-life determination.
• Knowledge of hygiene and disinfection principles.
