Job summary

Copeland Limited in Cookstown (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Quality Technician for a temporary vacancy in the RMA Lab within our Quality team. You will support incoming inspection, assist with corrective actions with suppliers, PED verifications, cross sections, audits, and support New Product Development projects and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of structured problem solving and statistical techniques helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Support incoming inspection processes in the RMA Lab.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to drive corrective actions and quality improvements.
  • Perform PED incoming verifications and cross section preparations.
  • Assist process and product audits and NPD projects.
  • Support process improvement and scrap reduction initiatives.

The Role

A temporary opportunity exists within our Quality department, as a Quality Technician in the RMA Lab. The successful candidate will be a key member of our Cookstown Quality team, with duties which include:

  • Providing support to the incoming inspection processes, using various gauging methods
  • Work with suppliers to facilitate corrective action & resolve Quality issues as appropriate
  • PED incoming verifications
  • PED cross section preparations
  • Process & Product audits
  • Supporting New Product Development Projects
  • Supporting process improvement & scrap reduction initiatives
Requirements
  • Ideally candidates will possess or working towards HNC/HND/Foundation Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or other associated disciplines with minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Candidates with B-Tech / A-level or equivalent in engineering with minimum 3 years relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Knowledge of reading technical drawings would be advantageous.
  • Experience in structured problem solving, using statistical techniques while working with suppliers and customers.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, oral and presentational.
  • Proven ability in building relationships whilst able to work autonomously.
  • Working knowledge of CMM programming would be beneficial.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
