Job summary

Safran Seats GB is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to oversee product quality across the lifecycle, from manufacturing through release, and to drive continual improvement with data. The role supports lifecycle QA, ensures processes and procedures are in place, and seeks efficiency improvements across the business.

The post holder will train operators, ensure proper manufacturing/repair/validation flows, and act as signatory for EASA form one and Certificate of Conformity where required.

Qualifications

  • Strong problem solving to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Clear communicator capable of conveying complex technical info.
  • Good knowledge of measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings and tolerance interpretation.
  • Willing to flexibly support other areas of the business when needed.
  • Apprenticeship level or equivalent in an engineering discipline is required.
  • Experience in quality inspection within manufacturing/engineering environments is essential.
  • AS9100 internal auditor training is desirable but not required.
  • Aerospace industry experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and support qualification and quality training of operators.
  • Ensure products/services pass required manufacturing/repair/validation processes.
  • Act as signatory for EASA form one and Certificate of Conformity where applicable.
  • Protect customers by ensuring compliance with regulations and Safran standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement using factual data and feedback.
  • Collaborate with operations and other quality teams to set quality objectives.
  • Measure quality of products/services against defined targets and report findings.
  • Implement and monitor corrective actions; verify effectiveness.
  • Support audits and on-the-job training in line with procedures and requirements.

Job description

The purpose of this role is to assure the quality of products, throughout the product lifecycle with Safran Seats GB. The post holder will support the product lifecycle quality assurance, through the complete manufacturing process, and take responsibility for ensuring that processes and procedures are in place and adhered to in relation to product quality. To help analyis all data to develop quality improvement plans (effectiveness and efficiency).

Responsibilities
  • To contribute to and support the qualification and quality training of operators.
  • To help ensure that products and services delivered to customers have gone through the appropriate manufacturing/repair/validation process by: - Defining, updating and ensuring compliance with the key points for achieving quality. - Supporting the due processing of customer dissatisfaction, non-compliance (production) and/or deviations from maintenance data (MRO). - Stop any action that could have an unacceptable impact on the quality of a product and propose the necessary conditions for restart.
  • Once trained, act as signatory for EASA form one for parts and product for release and as a Certificate of Conformity signatory
  • General:
    To protect customers from non-quality, by ensuring that products and practices comply with regulations, customer requirements and Safran standards and promoting a culture of prevention and anticipation
  • To drive continuous improvement, by capitalizing on factual data and feedback and providing the necessary support for all company functions
  • To undertake other reasonable duties, in line with business needs and objectives, which are consistent and commensurate with the overall purpose of the position. To work with the operational manager and operational team as well as the other quality teams, to help define quality objectives in line with company objectives.
  • Responsible for measuring the quality of products and services delivered, with respect to the specified objectives.
  • To help ensure that appropriate action plans are implemented and carried out, and measured for their effectiveness.
  • To support and conduct audits (where requested) and OJT in accordance with regulations, company procedures and customer requirements.
  • To support the implementation of the industrial validation process and help maintain the validation process.
  • To contribute to QRQC as methods authority.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Excellent problem solving skills (Essential)
  • Competent / Confident communicator (Essential)
  • Good knowledge of measuring equipment (Essential)
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings (Essential)
  • This role requires the job holder to work flexibly by supporting other areas of the business as and when required. (Essential)
  • Candidate skills & requirements Apprenticeship level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline (Essential)
  • Sound engineering / quality background, with experience of Quality inspection within a manufacturing / engineering industry (Essential)
  • Internal Auditor AS9100 trained (Desirable)
  • Experience within the Aerospace industry (Desirable)
