Job summary

Safran Actuation Systems UK is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to oversee supplier quality performance across a diverse supplier base. You will lead containment, root cause investigations and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence, in line with AS9100 and customer requirements.

The role involves audits, supplier development, and reporting to support management reviews, with opportunities to partner with internal stakeholders and travel for onsite visits.

Qualifications

  • A good understanding of problem solving techniques for production quality issues.
  • Excellent people skills, with the ability to work well in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to use own initiative, meeting objectives with internal and external stakeholders.
  • AS9100 Lead Auditor Training or Industry equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the quality performance of a portfolio of suppliers, driving continuous improvement initiatives and Supplier Quality Improvement Plans to reduce PPM and supplier escape events.
  • Lead containment, root cause investigations and corrective action activities for supplier-related quality issues.
  • Drive permanent corrective actions and read-across using 8D and 5 Why analysis.
  • Support the resolution of supplier escapes and ensure actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct supplier audits in line with AS9100, customer and Safran requirements.
  • Ensure supplier products, processes and quality systems remain compliant and capable of meeting business expectations.
  • Support Quality Management System compliance and ensure investigations and reject notes are completed in a timely manner.
  • Build strong supplier relationships through remote engagement and onsite visits.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve complex supplier quality issues and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provide quality performance reporting and corrective action updates to support management reviews and business decision-making.

Key responsabilities :
Supplier Performance & Improvement
  • Manage the quality performance of a portfolio of suppliers, driving continuous improvement initiatives and Supplier Quality Improvement Plans to reduce PPM and supplier escape events.

What will you bring to the role?

Essential:
