Job summary

Pilgrim’s Europe is seeking a Quality Systems Technologist to support and continually enhance our Quality Management Systems, supplier compliance programmes, and customer specifications. This role is pivotal for ensuring food safety, legality, and authenticity across our Attleborough site.

You will work cross-functionally to maintain controlled documentation, support audits, and drive continuous improvements in technical systems such as Foods Connected, Authenticate, and Recipe Professor.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Quality/Technical/Systems role within food manufacturing.
• Understanding of food safety principles and quality management systems.
• Knowledge of HACCP, supplier approvals, specifications and food manufacturing standards.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience documenting and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the site's QMS and related technical systems.
• Support supplier compliance programmes and audits.
• Manage documentation, procedures, specifications and records.
• Assist with regulatory audits and customer specifications.
• Coordinate supplier approval docs and raw material specs.
• Support customer technical portals and portal data.
• Investigate technical issues and assist CAPAs.
• Drive continuous improvement across technical systems.

Quality Systems Technologist

We are looking for a Quality Systems Technologist to support and continuously improve our Quality Management Systems, supplier compliance programmes, technical systems, and customer requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive technical professional who enjoys working cross-functionally and driving high standards in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

As a Quality Systems Technologist, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving technical systems and processes that support food safety, quality, legality, and authenticity across the site.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the management and continuous improvement of the site's Quality Management System (QMS)
• Ensuring compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, customer standards, and relevant legislation
• Maintaining controlled documentation, procedures, specifications, and records
• Supporting internal, customer, certification, and regulatory audits
• Managing supplier approval documentation and raw material specifications
• Maintaining technical systems including Foods Connected, Authenticate, and Recipe Professor
• Coordinating supplier compliance and risk assessment activities, including VACCP programmes
• Supporting customer technical requests, portals, and specification management
• Investigating technical issues and supporting corrective and preventative actions
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across technical systems and processes

Essential

• Experience in a Quality, Technical, QA, or Systems role within food manufacturing
• Understanding of food safety principles and quality management systems
• Knowledge of HACCP, supplier approval processes, specifications, and food manufacturing standards
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Experience managing documentation and data accurately
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline
• Knowledge of BRCGS requirements
• Internal Auditor qualification
• HACCP Level 3 (or equivalent)
• Experience using Foods Connected, Authenticate, Recipe Professor, or similar systems
• Experience managing customer technical portals and retailer specifications
