Job summary

Nestlé S.A. in York is seeking a Quality Support Manager on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract – Full Time to join our factory quality team. You will own the site quality systems and support audits to deliver First Time Right products.

Working with the Quality Manager, you will review quality improvement plans, manage documentation and training, and collaborate with market and auditing teams to uphold Nestlé standards. ISO 9001 / FSSC 22000 and SAP experience is preferred.

  • Strong commitment to high quality and compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to review and improve quality systems.

We have an excellent opportunity to join our Nestlé team as a Quality Support Manager at our factory in York. The Quality team at York has a team of 8 people in different roles reporting to the factory Quality Manager. This factory has over 500 employees working in various departments on various shifts but we would estimate your touch points would be circa 50. The role also has the exciting opportunity to interact with our market team and has relationships with the auditing teams internal and external to Nestle.


In this role you will Support for the Quality Team to produce safe, compliant and First Time Right product and minimise losses through systems co-ordination and improvement, coaching and verification. Work with the Quality Manager in reviewing and planning quality improvement across the factory.


Your Impact

In the role of Quality Support Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the quality team to produce safe, compliant and a \"First Time Right\" product. You will have ownership of the sites quality systems and external audits, supporting the Quality Manager in reviewing and planning quality improvement across the factory.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Quality Assurance Compliance: Contribute as a key member of the factory Quality Assurance team, working with the team and wider factory to ensure compliance with the Nestlé quality system.

  • Quality Improvement Planning: Collaborate with the Quality Manager to review and plan quality improvement initiatives across the factory, identifying trends and themes to focus efforts on top issues.

  • Traceability and Documentation: Review manufacturing records ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant.

  • Expertise and Support: Provide expertise in the Nestlé quality system, ensuring a common approach across all areas and supporting the factory Area Quality Managers.

  • Process Management and Training: Manage key quality processes, such as sensory management, internal audits, document control, and third-party audits, while also acting as a GLOBE QM superuser to provide training and conduct regular health checks.

To be successful in the role of Quality Support Manager you will have proven experience within quality assurance roles in a factory/FMCG environment, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.


Key Skills and Experience


  • Educational Background: Ideally holds a degree or equivalent in a Science, Engineering, or Quality related subject.

  • Quality Management Systems: Ability to evidence working with and improving Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 / FSSC 22000).

  • Continuous Improvement and Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to work with a continuous improvement mindset and engage with multiple stakeholders across the factory setting to influence quality practices.

  • Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement: Ability to take a process, retrieve data, and identify opportunities and trends, with PowerBI knowledge considered an added advantage.

  • Additional Technical Skills: Proven SAP skills, ideally in factory or quality aspects.
