York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a Quality & Safety Midwife to lead PMRT and ATAIN review coordination, driving learning and improvements across maternity and neonatal services.
You will work with governance teams to translate findings into safer clinical practice and engage families throughout reviews. This role supports professional development in maternity governance and patient safety.
Company: York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
A Vacancy at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and forward-thinking Registered Midwife to join our Maternity Governance Team as a Quality & Safety Midwife (PMRT & ATAIN). This is a unique opportunity for a midwife with a passion for patient safety, quality improvement and learning from care reviews to make a real difference to outcomes for women, babies and families across our Trust.
Working closely with maternity, neonatal, governance and bereavement colleagues, you will support the delivery of our quality and safety agenda through the coordination and facilitation of the Perinatal Mortality Review Tool (PMRT) and Avoiding Term Admissions into Neonatal Units (ATAIN) programmes. You will help ensure that reviews are undertaken effectively, learning is identified and shared, and improvements are translated into meaningful change in clinical practice.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in maternity governance, patient safety, audit, quality improvement and national maternity safety programmes, while remaining connected to clinical practice and improving care at a service-wide level.
You will be passionate about improving safety, quality and outcomes for women, birthing people, babies and families.
Experience of PMRT, maternity governance, audit, incident review, quality improvement, Datix, PSIRF, SEIPS methodology or patient safety work would be advantageous, but is not essential, as development and support will be provided.
