Quality Process Engineer

THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an immediate opening in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for a Process Quality Engineer. The responsibilities include ensuring process and quality performance within your area of responsibility.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

1. Conduct daily audit tours focusing on quality standards in your area.
2. Ensure quality and productivity meet the goals set by the shop.
3. Anticipate customer risks, product compliance, and quality performance issues.
4. Apply 'Right the First Time' principles.
5. Create and implement actions to mitigate risks.
6. Monitor quality results to ensure tire performance aligns with expectations.
7. Handle complaints, non-conformities, and performance deviations appropriately.
8. Identify causes of anomalies and root causes, resolve and eliminate them.
9. Develop improvement actions and integrate them into the annual progress plan.
10. Collaborate with other departments to resolve quality issues.
11. Lead or participate in quality risk assessments for products, materials, processes, and methods.
12. Draw logical conclusions through in-depth analysis of data.
13. Mentor operators to improve adherence to manufacturing standards and responses to deviations.
14. Follow up on process performance regarding capability and productivity, ensuring continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with suppliers, customers, and colleagues at all levels.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving skills with knowledge of process/product relationships.
• B.S. degree in STEM or operations management; experience in process engineering or quality control in manufacturing is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn internal software systems.
• Familiarity with quality protocols and ISO standards is preferred.
• Attention to detail and data accuracy.
