Job summary

GSK Barnard Castle is seeking an experienced Operational Quality Manager to lead a team ensuring GMP compliance and drive a proactive quality culture across a complex manufacturing site. You will oversee Quality Oversight activities, partner with area management, and champion continuous improvement to prevent quality events and ensure inspection readiness.

Qualifications

• Degree in scientific/technical/engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Operational Quality (OQ) experience.
• Team management experience.
• Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
• Knowledge and application of Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Responsibilities

• Managing a team responsible for ensuring GMP processes and adherence to procedures across the Barnard Castle site.
• Perform spot-checks of activities across GMP areas to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Review Quality Oversight trends and actions; adjust oversight frequency or methods as needed.
• Partner with area management to ensure Quality Oversight is backed by department owners.
• Keep Quality Oversight risk assessment current with trends and process changes.
• Ensure adherence to the oversight schedule and escalate deviations along with corrective actions.
• Model GPS standards in tiered accountability meetings and changeover reviews.
• Coach employees to promote the Quality Starts With Me culture and understand non‑compliance impacts.
