Altrad is seeking a Quality Manager to support the MEH Alliance HVAC scope at Sizewell C, based on site in Suffolk, UK. About The Role

Altrad are seeking an experienced and technically capable Quality Manager to support the delivery of quality requirements across the MEH Alliance HVAC scope at Sizewell C.

This role will be based at Sizewell C on a permanent basis and will ensure MEH Alliance quality requirements are effectively implemented and maintained throughout the full project lifecycle, from contract award, design, procurement and manufacture through to construction, installation, testing, commissioning and contract close‑out. Acting as the primary quality interface for the supply chain, you will work closely with the Project Manager, internal project functions, suppliers and contracted inspection entities to ensure equipment, components and processes meet contractual, technical and quality requirements safely, efficiently and right first time.

Key Deliverables / Accountabilities:

• Ensure MEH Alliance quality requirements are implemented and maintained throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Ensure key contractual quality arrangements are effectively cascaded to and understood by the supply chain.
• Ensure supply chain partners understand and comply with requirements for Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs).
• Act as the single point of contact for quality-related matters associated with the supply chain, supporting the Project Manager as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Identify the requirement for supply chain audits, plan and conduct audits and ensure findings are effectively resolved.
• Review, accept and monitor quality deliverables produced by supply chain organisations.
• Ensure manufactured equipment and components conform to the approved contract design and technical specifications.
• Ensure manufacturing surveillance is applied using a graded approach based on safety function and project importance.
• Review Inspection and Test Plans submitted by suppliers to ensure they are fit for purpose from a quality perspective.
• Ensure Inspection and Test Plans are correctly distributed to relevant internal parties for identification and marking‑up of activities requiring witnessing.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contracted inspection entities.
• Support the monitoring and technical resolution of non-conformances, including the management of corrections and corrective actions.
• Review end‑of‑manufacturing records and ensure the appropriate quality release of equipment from supplier premises.
• Implement the MEHA Quality Execution Plan and ensure quality management processes are correctly applied throughout the project.
• Support the MEHA in achieving compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) arrangements.
• Work closely with project functions and supply chain partners to ensure quality is delivered consistently, safely, efficiently and right first time.
• Provide quality assurance and quality control oversight across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities.
• Lead and manage Quality Engineers, including setting objectives, monitoring performance, conducting annual appraisals and supporting professional development.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality processes, systems and supply chain performance.

Key Requirements / Qualifications:

• HNC/HND in Quality Management or a degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience performing supplier audits.
• Experience in project delivery, preferably within the nuclear power sector.
• Significant experience in project quality across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning environments.
• Strong understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles within major and complex projects.
• Clear and comprehensive understanding of quality management best practice within large, complex and contract‑led organisations.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and relevant standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 19443 and IAEA GSR-2.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance, inspection, testing, non-conformance management and supplier quality processes.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare presentation materials and confidently address individuals, small groups and large audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal teams, suppliers and external inspection organisations.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and safety.
