Job summary

Prime Appointments Recruitment Agency is recruiting a Quality Manager for a leading aerospace precision engineering manufacturer in the Southend-on-Sea area. You will lead the Quality & Inspection department with full autonomy, managing AS9100 QMS and approvals for product release.

Role offers a 4-day week and a competitive package. Key responsibilities include audits, FAIR/LAIR documentation, calibration oversight, and driving zero-defect improvements while engaging with customers on quality

Qualifications

• Aerospace sector experience required.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100/ISO9100.
• Hands-on FAIR/LAIR experience.
• Proven leadership/supervisory background in inspection/quality.
• Qualified auditor.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the AS9100 QMS.
• Lead and mentor the Inspection team.
• Create/approve FAIR/LAIR documentation using VisualFAIR.
• Conduct internal/external AS9100 audits.
• Act as Approved Signatory for product release.
• Oversee calibration and qualification processes.
• Drive zero-defect/continuous improvement initiatives and serve as primary contact for customer quality matters.
