Job summary

Actio Recruitment in Rochford, Essex seeks a Quality Manager for aerospace manufacturing to oversee quality activities, lead a small inspection team and ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9100 and EASA standards. The role includes conducting audits, approving FAIRs and LAIRs, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing.

You will coordinate calibration and inspection activities, support subcontractors, and act as the quality representative for customers and certifying bodies.

Qualifications

• Essential aerospace manufacturing experience.
• Experience completing and approving First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
• Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9100 and EASA standards.
• Auditing qualification and experience (internal/external).
• Previous leadership or line management experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Quality Management System in line with AS9100/ISO 9100 requirements.
• Lead, motivate and develop the Quality Inspection team.

• Plan and conduct internal and external quality audits.

Quality Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing

Location: Rochford, Essex

Salary: Up to £50,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Hours: Monday – Thursday | 6:45am – 4:30pm (37-hour week)

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee all quality activities across the business, managing a team of two experienced inspectors while balancing priorities including FAIR completion, subcontractor quality activities, audits and day-to-day manufacturing support.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the Quality Management System in line with AS9100/ISO 9100 requirements.
• Lead, motivate and develop the Quality Inspection team.
• Create, review and approve FAIRs and LAIRs using VisualFAIR software.
• Plan and conduct internal and external quality audits.
• Act as the company's quality representative for customers and certification bodies.
