Artifex Interior Systems is pleased to offer the following opportunity:

Quality Manager
Main Purpose of the Job

To serve as the site representative for all quality aspects, leading and developing the department in alignment with customer-specific requirements and business objectives within a continuous improvement cycle.

Main Responsibilities and Outcomes
  1. Manage, develop, and appraise the Quality Department both on-site and off-site, supporting the business needs with a structured team.
  2. Oversee and coordinate daily quality concerns across customer sites, suppliers, and production areas.
  3. Communicate and report to Corporate Quality Management UK/Europe to develop consistent methods and practices across locations.
  4. Develop and implement the site Quality Management System in accordance with GDS, Customer Specific Requirements, and IATF 16949 standards.
  5. Coordinate all site audits, including IATF, CCC, and others as needed.
  6. Manage and nurture customer relations through regular communication and meetings, proactively addressing quality and systemic issues.
  7. Utilize corporate tools to monitor and improve quality performance, aligning with customer reporting systems.
  8. Manage quality metrics through corporate and internal systems.
  9. Review customer quality portals regularly to assess quality scores and challenge them if necessary.
  10. Promote problem-solving initiatives using proven methodologies, ensuring permanent solutions and driving improvements with lessons learned.
  11. Ensure internal audits are conducted, results reported, and actions implemented to achieve operational excellence.
  12. Report on quality KPIs daily, weekly, and monthly.
  13. Support the Technical department with PPAP processes.
  14. Develop and maintain a succession plan for all department roles.
Budget Responsibilities

Full responsibility for the Quality Department budget, including staffing, equipment, and service contracts.

Reporting Lines

Manage the following direct reports:

  • Quality Engineers (on-site and customer-based)
  • Quality Systems Engineer
  • Measurement Team
  • Trackside Representatives
  • Quality Coordinators (shift-based)
  • Quality Gate Operators (shift-based)
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of O Level / GCSE grade B
  • Fluent in English
  • Proven managerial experience in a quality role, preferably in automotive or challenging FMCG environments
  • Influential and persuasive communication style
  • Proactive problem-solving attitude
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and self-starting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels
  • Strong presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Member of Chartered Quality Institute
  • Engineering degree in a relevant technical discipline with relevant experience
What You Will Receive

A competitive salary plus holiday pay. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Fridays. Training will be provided, and the role requires presence in the office five days a week.
