Job summary

A leading manufacturer of collagen products is looking for a Quality Laboratory Technician to join their Supply Chain team. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety standards, conducting analyses, and participating in laboratory maintenance. Applicants should have significant laboratory experience and ideally a scientific degree, alongside excellent communication and time management skills.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years relevant laboratory experience.
  • Experience in working to high-quality standards such as GMP/GLP preferred.
  • Full clean driving licence required.

We are searching for a Quality Laboratory Technician within our Supply Chain team, and if you believe that you have the experience and skills we need, we would love to hear from you.

About the role:

  • To implement company and departmental policies and procedures to comply with Health, Safety, COSHH and Risk Assessment requirements.
  • Plan own workload to ensure the correct balance between rapid delivery and appropriate quality of results to support the laboratory team in day-to-day laboratory activities.
  • To carry out routine and non-routine tasks accurately, in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations.
  • To follow strict methodology to carry out analysis.
  • To record and analyse data, sometimes interpreting results to present to senior colleagues.
  • To undertake routine maintenance and calibration checks of laboratory services and equipment including fume cupboards, deioniser, visual electrical safety checks, autoclave etc. under the guidance of the Senior Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician.
  • To participate in continual improvement and development of methods and procedures.
  • To update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications

About you:

  • At least 2 years relevant laboratory experience.
  • A background in the food industry would be preferable but not essential.
  • Previous experience working to a high-quality standard such as GMP/GLP.
  • A working knowledge of NIR modelling software, HPLC, GC, Thermal Conductivity, AAS, wet chemistry and basic microbiology.
  • Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Good mathematical ability.
  • Must be detail oriented, have good time management skills, be well organised and be able to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required to work effectively with colleagues.
  • BSc Degree in a related scientific field or a minimum of HND. A full clean driving licence.
