Job summary

Ball Corporation is seeking a chemistry graduate to support Customer Quality, Quality & Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations in investigations of complaints and production issues. You will test products, evaluate new materials, and help qualify new manufacturing plants and processes.

Key duties include developing test methods, performing analyses (ICP-OES, IC, EIS, FT-IR, SEM/EDX), and reporting findings to enable project development and trials. Fluent English is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Sciences or closely related discipline.
• Theoretical and practical experience gained through degree.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Testing new products from customers for compatibility with packaging for shelf-life determination.
• Investigative analysis and reporting of consumer complaints and production issues.
• Failure analysis and reporting.
• Evaluation of new materials for coating of cans and ends.
• Development and reporting to support project work within the sector.
• Maintain a safe laboratory environment and comply with safety guidelines.
• Development of test methods for specific tests.
• Support global engineering projects and trials.

Job description

This Role supports Customer Quality, Quality & Engineering Groups, Manufacturing Operations in the investigation of Customer complaints, Production issues, Customer product testing and customer qualification of new manufacturing plants and new materials. The role also involves assisting Group Coatings with qualification of New materials which includes current projects and the implementation of long term projects for CTS and Customer qualifications.,

• Testing new products from customers for compatibility with our packaging to enable shelf-life determination
• Investigative analysis and reporting of consumer complaints
• Failure analysis and reporting
• Evaluation of new materials for coating of cans and ends
• Analysis and reporting to support development projects within the sector
• Maintenance of a safe working environment within the laboratory and to comply with the safety guidelines set out
• Development of test methods for specific tests
• Supporting global engineering group projects / trials
  Degree in Chemical Sciences or a closely related scientific discipline
• Theoretical and practical experience gained through degree
• Any experience with laboratory analytical equipment such as ICP-OES, IC & IC Titration, EIS, FT-IR and SEM/EDX
• Fluent in English

Desirable:

• Exposure to electrochemical analysis techniques
• Some relevant industry experience
