Job summary

Regional Recruitment Services is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector for a market leading sheet metal company in Leicester. The role ensures all components meet drawings and quality standards before dispatch.

You will inspect sheet metal parts, use verniers, calipers and micrometres, and work closely with production teams. Overtime and development opportunities are on offer.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, calipers and micrometres.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable and organised approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out first-off, in-process, and final inspections of sheet metal components and assemblies.
• Inspect products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and company quality standards.
• Use inspection equipment including verniers, calipers, micrometres, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Identify, record, and report defects, non-conformances, or quality issues.
• Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality documentation.
• Work closely with production, fabrication, and welding teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality and manufacturing processes.
• Ensure all inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained correctly.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Previous experience in a quality inspection role within manufacturing or sheet metal
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, callipers, and micrometres
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable and organised approach to work

Desirable:

• Knowledge of ISO quality standards
• Welding inspection experience
• Experience completing quality documentation and inspection reports
• Forklift licence
• Basic computer skills for reporting and record keeping
