Job summary
James Kirby associates Ltd on the outskirts of Derbyshire is recruiting an experienced Quality Inspector to join our precision engineering team. You will perform first-off and patrol inspection of CNC machined components, manual inspection with micrometers and gauges, operate and program CMMs, and conduct goods inward inspection with calibration of equipment.
The role offers a permanent contract, a market salary around £40,000, and a bonus scheme.
Qualifications
- Previous quality inspection experience within a precision engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Experience inspecting CNC machined components.
- Confident using handheld measuring equipment.
- CMM operating experience.
- CMM programming experience would be advantageous; training can be provided.
Responsibilities
- First-off and patrol inspection of CNC machined components
- Manual inspection using micrometers, verniers, gauges and callipers
- Operating and programming CMM machines
- Inspecting components against engineering drawings and specifications
- Goods inward inspection
- Calibration of measuring and inspection equipment
- Identifying and resolving quality issues
- Raising and documenting non-conformances
- Supporting continuous improvement activities
