Job summary

Pact Engineering is seeking a Quality Inspector (CMM) to join our precision engineering team in Luton. The role focuses on inspecting components against specifications, reading engineering drawings, and using CMM equipment to ensure top quality.

The successful candidate will report non-conformances, generate inspection documentation, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions within a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection within a precision engineering environment.
• Experience programming and operating Aberlink Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
• Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO9001.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting precision components and finished products against specification.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Using precision measurement equipment including micrometers, gauges and CMM.
• Identifying and reporting non-conforming components.
• Producing detailed inspection reports and quality documentation.
• Identifying defects, supporting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Working with production teams to improve manufacturing quality and reduce defects.
• Supporting the development and maintenance of quality procedures and ISO9001 standards.

Quality Inspector (CMM) — Precision Engineering

Salary: £18 – £21 per hour, depending on experience

Location: Luton, Bedfordshire

Working pattern: Full-time, permanent — 40 hours (Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 2pm)

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a skilled Quality Inspector to help maintain the standards our customers rely on.

This suits an experienced inspector, or a competent engineer ready to step into a dedicated quality role, who wants to develop within a well-run machine shop.

What you'll be doing

• Inspecting precision components and finished products against specification
