Quality Inspector / Certification and Calibration Technician
Location: Barnoldswick
£16.81 per hour
Working hours: Monday-Friday (Early finish Friday), 7:00am-3:45pm
Our client, a leading manufacturer in their field, is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector / Certification Technician to join their team due to continued growth and expansion.

Requirements:
- Time served through a recognized engineering apprenticeship with a proven precision engineering background.
- Previous inspection experience with good knowledge of dimensional and geometric tolerances, and ability to use conventional inspection equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and height gauges.
- Experience of calibration and material certification is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Experience working with stainless steel and mild steel components.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively, working to tight targets and deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Strong IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with MRP systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Good numeracy, literacy, communication, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Review and endorse material certification documents to ensure compliance with purchasing requirements, customer quality standards, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Perform goods inward inspections, checking incoming parts and materials against standards and documentation.
- Use conventional inspection equipment to carry out precise dimensional and geometric inspections.
- Interpret and verify engineering drawings for component compliance.
- Inspect stainless steel and mild steel components for conformance.
- Maintain and update calibration databases and documentation.
- Perform in-house calibration of measuring tools and arrange external calibration as needed.
- Record and report inspection findings accurately, including non-conformances.
- Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve inspection issues.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and customer requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of inspected and calibrated items.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
