Quality Inspector Perm role

£38k-£48k pa DOE, Mon to Thurs
WETHERBY

Are you an experienced Quality Inspector with experience working within the Precision Engineering sector and a keen interest in complex Geometry? If so, I am looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to work for one of my clients, an Engineering and Manufacturing company based in Wetherby.

Working in a small team, your main role will be inspecting products against engineering drawings to assess whether products meet the required measurements and quality standards, using a range of hand tools, cameras, and measuring instruments.

1. Ensure conformity for one-off and small batch precision-engineered components
2. Perform visual and dimensional inspection
3. Check TIR, run out, and angled geometry of products
4. Complete First Article Inspections and NCRs
5. Understand geometric tolerances and various surface finishings
6. Liaise with other departments when needed

For this role, you must have formal qualifications within Mechanical Engineering or similar (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, BTEC, HNC, HND, etc.).

Other key skills required are:

1. Experience working in a similar position, ideally within the Precision Engineering Industry
2. The ability to read, interpret, and work directly from complex engineering drawings
3. Experience of using conventional measuring instruments and equipment including micrometers, vernier calipers, digital vernier and calipers
4. Knowledge of using inspection cameras and measuring instruments like Royal and Trimos
5. A background working to tight tolerances, within 0.05mm max, including pocket geometry, pocket clearances, thread sizing, surface finish, and weld imperfections
6. Good knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
7. A passion for geometry and all things measuring
8. The ability to manage your time and handle multiple tasks within tight deadlines
9. Possess a hardworking and hands-on approach to problem solving
10. An exceptional attention to detail

This role is advertised as permanent, with a salary between £38k and £48k per annum, depending on experience.

Core working hours will be from 7:30 am to 5:15 pm, Monday to Thursday, with flexibility required to meet the client’s needs.
