Job summary

Nutanix in Wimborne Minster is seeking a Quality Inspector to monitor and validate parts and assemblies against engineering requirements. You will inspect stages to ensure compliance with drawings and process requirements.

You will raise NCRs for non-conforming items, review FAIs, and support calibration and non-conformance handling while liaising with suppliers and internal teams to drive first-time quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years experience in an inspection environment.
  • Familiar with AS9102 FAIR requirements.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings including GD&T.
  • Experience handling non-conformances and NCRs.
  • Capable of interacting with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Proactive, data-driven problem solving and decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and validate the Quality of Parts and Assemblies across functions.
  • Inspect partially and fully completed assemblies to engineering requirements.
  • Raise NCRs for non-conforming product at goods-in; support production for non-conformities.
  • Liaise with Manufacturing to resolve queries; review supplier FAIs and update systems.
  • Compile FAIRs for internal assembly work evidencing conformity of process and product.
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineers and Quality Engineering where needed.
  • Perform sample audits of Ship to Stock parts and assist calibration programs.
  • Co-operate with management to ensure safety and legal duties are met.

Job description

What you’ll do:To monitor and validate the Quality of Parts and/or Assemblies and to provide specialist inspection capability across business functions..Responsible for Quality Management System compliance and improvement.Inspect partially and fully completed Assemblies to Engineering requirements.Conduct Patrol Inspection of random stages to ensure compliance to drawing and process.Raise NCRs for non conforming product detected at the goods-in stage and support production detected non conformities when requiredProvide ad-hoc business support against specific demand for Inspection/measurement of product where requiredLiaise with Manufacturing staff to help resolve queries when requiredReview completed supplier generated FAI’s and Grade 1 part control plans and amend MRP and Visual FAIR systems accordinglyCompile FAIR’s for internal assembly work to provide evidence of conformity of process and product.Support Supplier Quality Engineers and Quality Engineering where appropriatePerform sample product audits of Ship to Stock partsSupport the internal Calibration programme for measurement equipmentCo-operate with management to meet the employer’s legal duties and take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissionsQualifications:5-10 years experience working in an Inspection environmentSkills:Familiar with general inspection techniques and their appropriate selection. Knowledge of assembly inspection would be an advantage.Familiar with AS9102 FAIR requirementsAbility to read and interrogate engineering drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancingAble to manage the balance between Independence and willingness to re-assess when new data/information available.Familiar with general non conformance processesAbility to interact with Suppliers and Internal CustomersBasic understanding of Microsoft Office packagesFurther competencies will be provided via the competency matrix, and linked to the relevant job level- Attention to Detail/meticulous- Voice of the customer/standards- Deliver to Promise, Pace- Independence- Data based decision making- Passion for Quality, doing the right thing- Team working- Proactive engagement- Knowledgeable & willing to learn- Right first time approachProblem solving- Passion to improve continuouslyGood working knowledge of Quality Standards such as AS9100, AS9110, AS9102Inspection of Aircraft assemblies preferredActively implemented proactive and preventive Quality techniques
