Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Quality Controller to join a multi-skilled team in a diverse manufacturing environment covering Aerospace products and related components. The role involves mechanical and electrical inspection, in-process checks, and First Article Inspection to ensure conformance to drawings and procedures.

You will maintain quality records, support the shop floor with technical issues, and assist in training colleagues in products and processes.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using measuring equipment and interpreting drawings.
• Experience with IT systems and data recording.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies such as 5 Why’s and 8D.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

The Quality Controller role is to work as part of a team of multi-skilled Inspectors in a diverse manufacturing environment covering Aerospace product, Investment Castings, Mechanical and Electrical components and Composites.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Mechanical / Electrical inspection of Aerospace product
• In Process Inspection
• First Article Inspection
• Work on own initiatives and resolve any issues or problems in line with company procedures
• Undertake investigation of quality issues to resolution, in conjunction with all necessary internal or external bodies relating to product/process/system. These may be initiated by internal or external customers
• Maintenance of Quality Records and Metrics
• Support shop floor with Technical issues if required
• Auditing of Approved Operators
• Support training of others in products and processes for your area
• Because of the changing nature of our business your job description will inevitably change. You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.
• You will be required to undertake all responsibilities above in line with your Grade.

Experience Required

• Use of Measuring Equipment
• Able to interpret Engineering Drawings
• Previous experience required although training can be provided
• Experience of Goods In Inspection and processes advantageous
• Aerospace knowledge advantageous
• Experience of FAIRs to AS 9102
• IT Skills
• Root Cause Tools – 5 why’s / 8D
