Division info:

The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture, repair, and overhaul of landing gears and flight-critical components for a customer base that includes OEMs and operators in both commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

The Quality Inspector will work closely with manufacturing teams at Nottingham, inspecting components in process and at final inspection.

Main responsibilities:

• Create, manage, and review FAIRs in accordance with AS2.
• Ensure compliance with standards from regulatory authorities.
• Maintain department procedures including technique sheets and SOPs.
• Ensure product conformity through visual and dimensional inspection.
• Inspect customer components against drawings, using hand measuring equipment and CMMs/Scanning Arms.
• Support production and liaise with shop floor areas on product conformance.
• Possess a strong background in Quality Inspection, Metrology, and CMM.
• Interpret CMM reports and self-inspect parts using manual measuring tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and root cause investigations.
• Document quality issues and concerns.

Qualifications:

Essential characteristics:

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Attention to detail, good communication, team player, proactive, and eager to learn.
• Knowledge of AS2.

Desirable characteristics:

• Experience in aerospace manufacturing and as a final inspector.
• Strong background in Metrology and CMM operation.
• Experience with Faro Arms, PC-Dmis, or similar.
• Legal entitlement to work in the UK.
