Job summary

Westin Par in Sittingbourne, Kent, is seeking a Quality Inspector to join a manufacturing team on a permanent, site-based basis. The role offers a 37-hour week and a salary of £30,000 per annum with overtime when available.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will inspect against drawings, use measuring equipment, investigate non-conformances and assist with QMS improvements. A Friday finish is included due to the shorter Friday shift.

Qualifications

• Reading engineering drawings and interpreting tolerances.
• Using measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
• Understanding ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements.
• Confident communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Carry out dimensional, visual and material inspections against engineering drawings.
• Inspect incoming supplier parts using manual and digital measuring equipment.
• Investigate non-conforming parts and liaise with suppliers on corrective actions.
• Complete and verify First Article Inspection (FAI) data to AS9102 requirements.
• Review inspection documents and release accepted products through the ERP system.
• Support improvements to the Quality Management System (QMS).

The role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will:

• Complete and verify First Article Inspection (FAI) data to AS9102 requirements.

About you

You will bring practical inspection skills, attention to detail and a hands-on approach to solving problems. Relevant skills and knowledge include:

• Reading engineering drawings and interpreting tolerances.
• Using measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
• Understanding ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements.
• Confident communication, teamwork and Microsoft Office skills.

Previous manufacturing quality experience, basic welding inspection knowledge, AS9102 experience or CMM arm programming skills would be an advantage. Our client also welcomes candidates with relevant practical skills and a willingness to learn.
