Job summary

British Offsite is seeking a Quality Inspector to join the production floor. You will perform quality inspections across different stages, recording data to drive consistency and quality. You’ll act as the first point of contact for defects, collaborating with production teams to resolve issues in real time.

The role focuses on in-process checks, non-conformance handling, and continuous improvement to meet KPI targets and safety standards on site.

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail with high accuracy in defects and measurements.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Proficient use of measuring tools and inspection equipment.
  • Understanding of quality control processes and non-conformance procedures.
  • Clear communication with production, engineering and quality teams when issues arise.
  • Problem-solving to identify root causes and support corrective actions.
  • Good organisation and time management to handle multiple inspections.
  • Willingness to work on a manufacturing floor and contribute to a quality culture.
  • IT literacy to document digital inspection records on tablets or laptops.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections across production stages and record data.
  • Identify defects early and communicate findings to resolve issues.

  • Quarantine non-conforming items and support root-cause investigations.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams for rapid resolutions.

  • Ensure health and safety compliance during inspections.

A little bit about the role...

Monday - Friday l 6am - 2pm

Are you eagle-eyed when it comes to detail and passionate about high standards? We're looking for a proactive Quality Inspector to join our team on the production floor.

In this hands-on role, you will perform quality inspections across different stages of the production line, accurately recording data to drive consistency and build quality. Acting as the first point of contact for identifying defects early, you'll collaborate directly with production teams to resolve quality issues in real time.

The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Product Inspection - Check materials, components, and finished products against drawings, specifications, and quality standards within our set cycle time.
  • In-Process Checks - Monitor quality throughout production to spot issues early and prevent defects.
  • Recording Results - Complete inspection reports clearly and accurately, logging measurements, defects, and corrective actions.
  • Non-Conformance Handling - Identify defects, quarantine non-conforming items, and support root-cause investigations.
  • Communication - Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues quickly.
  • Continuous Improvement - Suggest improvements to processes, standards, or inspection methods.
  • KPI Support - Support the business to meet and exceed key performance indicators, including right-first-time and cost-of-poor-quality targets.
  • Health & Safety Compliance - Follow all site safety rules and ensure inspections support safe manufacturing practices.

  • Organisation & Time Management - Ability to manage multiple inspections, priorities, and reporting tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Teamwork - Works well with others and supports a positive, quality-focused culture across our business.
  • IT Literacy - Able to complete digital inspection records with the use tablets or laptops.
  • Manufacturing Experience - Previous experience in a manufacturing or environment is preferred.
  • Proactive & Flexible - Proactive and flexible to the needs of the business, adapting to changing priorities and supporting operational demands.
