Job description

Quality Control Technician - Fabrication workshop - Heathfield Industrial Estate,

Starts immediately

Full time position - Day Shift 07:00-15:30

Salary: dependent upon experience

Quality Inspector Responsibilities:

  1. Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
  2. Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
  3. Inspect steel fabrication work on shop floor and sign off as correct for weld specification, orientation, quality and dimensional checks.
  4. Read engineering drawings and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
  5. Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to the specifications.
  6. Liaise with production manager and workshop staff for timely completion.
  7. Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
  8. Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
  9. Recording of goods in and goods out.
  10. Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
  11. Collate completed engineering drawings from Workshop for database input.
Quality Inspector Requirements:
  1. Steelwork and fabrication knowledge essential.
  2. Good working knowledge of MS Office.
  3. Good maths and technical skills.
  4. Good communicator.
  5. Good organisational and reporting skills.
  6. Attention to detail.
