We are looking for an experienced Quality Inspectorto join an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Deeside.
This is a hands‑on position responsible for ensuring materials, components and finished products meet the required quality standards, engineering drawings and customer specifications.
You will work across different areas of the site, including fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, goods‑in and final inspection, working closely with production teams to identify quality issues and maintain consistently high standards.
The role will also support the company's ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, non‑conformance processes and continuous improvement activities.
Carry out goods-in, in-process and final inspections across the manufacturing site.
Inspect raw materials, fabricated items, welded assemblies, machined components and finished products.
Ensure products meet engineering drawings, technical specifications, tolerances and customer requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, weld symbols and inspection criteria.
Use precision measuring equipment including callipers, micrometres, gauges, squares and other calibrated inspection equipment.
Accurately complete inspection reports, check sheets and other quality documentation.
Identify, record and report non-conforming materials, products or workmanship.
Support the control and segregation of non-conforming products to prevent incorrect release or dispatch.
Assist with investigations into quality issues, internal rejects, supplier defects and customer complaints.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent repeat quality issues.
Maintain accurate material, component and inspection traceability.
Work closely with welders, fabricators, machinists, supervisors and production teams to communicate findings and resolve quality concerns.
Ensure inspection and measuring equipment is correctly maintained and calibrated.
Support ISO 9001:2015 requirements and internal, external and customer audits.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across quality and production.
Promote a strong right-first-time quality culture throughout the site.
Follow all relevant quality, health & safety and company procedures.
The successful candidate should ideally have:
Previous experience as a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician, QC Inspector, Engineering Inspector or similar.
Experience within engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, welding or machining.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
Good understanding of dimensional inspection and engineering tolerances.
Experience completing inspection records and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or experience working within an ISO-accredited manufacturing environment.
