We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to lead, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System for a fast-growing precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Deeside.

Reporting directly to the SHEQ Director, the successful candidate will lead the site quality function, manage and develop the quality team, oversee inspection activities and ensure quality standards are embedded across all site operations.

The business operates within a highly technical, precision-led engineering environment, supplying specialist manufactured products to customers across global markets. Quality, product conformity, traceability and continuous improvement are therefore central to its ongoing success.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on Quality Manager who enjoys having the autonomy to drive positive change, strengthen quality systems and champion a proactive quality culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the site quality team, including Quality Inspectors and the Quality Technician.
  • Maintain, review and continually improve the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
  • Ensure the business remains prepared for certification, surveillance, customer and internal audits.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits, coordinating evidence and ensuring actions are completed.
  • Establish, monitor and report on quality objectives, risks, trends and key performance indicators.
  • Manage NCRs, product defects, process failures, customer complaints and supplier quality issues.
  • Lead root‑cause investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented and reviewed for effectiveness.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, auditors, operational teams and senior management on quality matters.
  • Conduct supplier audits and support supplier performance monitoring.
  • Oversee inspection activities, calibration records, traceability and product conformity documentation.
  • Develop and control quality procedures, work instructions, inspection plans and process documentation.
  • Provide practical quality guidance to engineering, manufacturing and operational teams.
  • Promote a positive quality culture and support quality‑related training across the business.
  • Provide quality input into management reviews, operational meetings and SHEQ reporting.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience managing internal and external audits, supplier audits, NCRs, complaints and corrective actions.
  • Previous experience leading Quality Inspectors, Technicians or an operational quality team.
  • Strong understanding of inspection, product conformity, process control, calibration and traceability.
  • Confident conducting investigations and applying root‑cause analysis techniques.
  • Experience within engineering, precision manufacturing, fabrication or a similar industrial environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and confidence working with customers and suppliers.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and organisational skills.
  • A practical, hands‑on approach with the ability to champion quality standards across the site.

A technical qualification within Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality would be advantageous, alongside an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification.

Experience within precision engineering, stainless‑steel fabrication, CNC machining, welding or pressure‑vessel manufacturing would also be highly desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the business during a significant period of growth and investment. You will have the autonomy to shape the quality function, develop the team and make a visible impact across the organisation.
