Quality Inspector - Precision Engineering
Location: Hailsham, UK

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join a cutting-edge engineering team, playing a key role in upholding high standards across the production process. As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, and validation of components and assemblies to ensure compliance with stringent engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Measure and inspect components and assemblies using metrology tools including Faro Arm (CMM).
  2. Conduct visual inspections of welds and finished goods to uphold product standards.
  3. Record defects and initiate corrective actions, including root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  4. Collaborate with teams to improve manufacturing processes and drive first-time quality.
  5. Maintain and update quality performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  1. Minimum 3 years' experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
  2. Solid knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality/process management tools (e.g., 5S, SPC, FMEA, Ishikawa).
  3. Proficient in using CMM or Faro Arm devices and other precision measurement equipment.
  4. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
Desirable:
  1. Knowledge of welding and fabrication processes.
  2. Experience in the vacuum or scientific equipment industry.
  3. Qualification to BTech/HNC/HND in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

  3. Effective communicator, both individually and within teams.
  4. Comfortable delivering technical input and engaging in collaborative problem-solving.
