Job summary

First Achieve Engineering, acting for a Glasgow-based specialist manufacturing client, is looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their manufacturing operation on a permanent basis. You will perform in-process and final inspections against drawings and quality procedures.

Reporting to the QHSE Manager, you will support a range of quality activities and reporting duties, ensure components meet tolerances, and help maintain ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Quality Inspection role within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Confident using precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, verniers).
• Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience producing inspection reports.

Responsibilities

• Carry out in-process and final inspection of manufactured components.
• Inspect products in accordance with drawings, specifications and procedures.
• Produce accurate inspection reports and documentation.
• Ensure components meet specified fits, clearances, and tolerances.
• Collaborate with QHSE to maintain and improve quality standards.
• Support ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 compliance.
• Assist with broader quality functions when required.

Quality Inspection- Reporting to QHSE Manager

(Glasgow - Up to £38K per annum (37 hours)

First Achieve Engineering are acting on behalf of our client, a well-established specialist
engineering manufacturer based in the Glasgow South area,

We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their manufacturing
operation on a permanent basis.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the QHSE Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out in-process
and final inspection in line with established quality processes and procedures. Due to the
varied nature of the position, you will also be expected to support other quality-related
activities and reporting duties when required.

Key Responsibilities include

• Carrying out in-process and final inspection of manufactured components.
• Inspect products in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and quality
  procedures.
• Produce accurate inspection reports and associated documentation.
• Ensure components meet specified fits, clearances and tolerances.
• Work closely with the QHSE function to maintain and improve quality standards.
• Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
• Assist with wider quality functions when required.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience working within a Quality Inspection role in an
  engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Confident using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers and verniers.
• Ability to accurately interpret technical engineering drawings and specification documents.
• Experience producing inspection reports.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and manage priorities effectively.
• Strong team-working and communication skills.
• Understanding of quality management systems and procedures.

Desirable

• Time-served engineering/shopfloor background, such as QC Machinist, Turner or
  Miller would be advantageous.
• Previous experience working within a manufacturing/factory environment.
• Forklift licence.

Working Hours

• 37 hours per week minimum.
• Flexible working hours may be required.
• Some evening and weekend work may be required depending on operational
  requirements.
• Overtime available when required.

Package & Benefits

• Salary of up to £38K per annum with overtime opportunities
