A leading precision engineering company in Andover seeks a Quality Inspector. This full-time, permanent role involves reviewing material certifications, operating CMM equipment, and ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards. Ideal candidates will possess strong quality inspection experience and attention to detail, with opportunities for ongoing development and training.
Quality Inspector
Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join a trusted precision engineering company based in Andover. This is a full-time permanent position.
Responsibilities as a Quality Inspector:
- Review and verify material certification documents to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable standards (including AS9100 and ISO 9001).
- Prepare and review ISIR and in accordance with customer and industry requirements.
- Accurately document inspection findings, including certificate conformity, observations, and any discrepancies.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and material standards to validate documentation.
- Offline program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to carry out dimensional inspections of components.
- Use a range of additional inspection tools and equipment.
- Report non-conformances promptly and address quality issues.
- Maintain accurate and traceable inspection records in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 9001.
- Participate in audits, internal reviews, and relevant training to uphold and improve inspection standards.
Requirments:
- Proven experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficient in programming and operating CMM equipment.
- Experience with FAIR and ISIR preparation.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Lean or Six Sigma awareness is desirable
The Quality Inspector role:
- Negotiable salary depending on experience
- Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm and Friday 8am - 1pm
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
