Can you help us maintain the high standards our customers expect by ensuring every component is inspected with care and precision?

We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our busy manufacturing environment, carrying out inspection and quality checks across incoming parts, work in progress and finished components. This role would suit someone with experience in engineering or manufacturing inspection who is confident reading technical drawings and working to quality procedures.

The Opportunity

Flitetec is a growing aerospace manufacturing and distribution business operating within the highly regulated civil and defence aerospace markets. We are looking for a detail-focused and reliable Quality Inspector to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality manufactured components.

This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for inspecting incoming parts, carrying out stage inspections during production, and completing final inspections before components are released. You will play an important part in ensuring products meet customer requirements, technical specifications, quality standards and internal procedures.

Working closely with the Quality Manager, Team Leaders and Operations team, you will help maintain accurate inspection records, support continuous improvement activity, and contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the manufacturing process.

You will be highly computer literate and fully competent with Microsoft 365.

Full-time hours: Your normal working hours will be 38 hours per week, typically worked Monday – Thursday 07:30 - 16:15 and Friday 07:30-12:30 with a 30-minute lunch. You will be required to be flexible with your working hours to meet the needs of the business.

What will I be responsible for?

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out inspection and testing activities using a range of processes and techniques, ensuring all work is completed in line with company quality procedures and technical specifications. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Inspecting incoming parts, in-process components and finished manufactured parts.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, test procedures and job cards.
• Carrying out First Article Inspections and completing associated reports.
• Generating and maintaining accurate inspection documentation in line with quality assurance requirements.
• Completing Non-Conformance Reports, including supporting root cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions.
• Recording work in progress, component locations and batch tracking information accurately within the MRP system.
• Ensuring component batches are tracked throughout the manufacturing process.
• Supporting Lean initiatives, including 5S and continuous improvement activities.
• Handling materials, goods and components carefully to prevent damage and maintain safety standards.
• Following Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring required quality standards are achieved.
• Complying with all relevant Health & Safety requirements, including risk assessments, COSHH assessments, safe systems of work and material safety data sheets.
• Working to required schedules while helping maintain productivity, quality and efficiency across the department.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing, engineering or inspection environment and will be confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical information.

You will be someone who takes pride in accuracy, has strong attention to detail, and understands the importance of maintaining high-quality standards. You will be comfortable working independently when required, while also contributing positively as part of a wider team.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Experience within manufacturing or engineering, ideally within an inspection or quality-focused role.
• The ability to read and interpret technical or engineering drawings.
• Good numeracy, geometry and data analysis skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• A reliable, adaptable and self-motivated approach.
• Good manual dexterity and care when handling components.
• Confidence using basic administration routines and recording information accurately.
• A basic understanding of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• The ability to work to deadlines and support changing business priorities.
• A positive, cooperative approach and willingness to support colleagues across the business.
• Knowledge of aerospace-related products or companies would be advantageous, but is not essential.
