Job summary

CNH Industrial Basildon Tractor Plant is seeking a Quality Engineering Supervisor to lead quality engineering activities across the site, ensuring products, processes and suppliers meet required quality standards.

You will lead a team of Quality Technicians and Inspectors, driving resolution of quality concerns and collaborating with Production, Engineering, Logistics and Supplier Quality teams to improve quality performance.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent with manufacturing experience.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading teams and delivering quality improvements.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems and processes (FMEA, PPAP, Control Plans).
• Ability to interpret GD&T drawings and apply problem-solving techniques.

• Authorise and maintain quality documentation and approvals.

Job Purpose

The Quality Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading quality engineering activities across the Basildon Tractor Plant, ensuring products, processes and suppliers meet required quality standards. Leading a team of Quality Technicians and Inspectors, the role drives the resolution of quality concerns, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and works collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Logistics and Supplier Quality teams to improve quality performance, reduce waste and support business objectives. The postholder will provide technical leadership, promote a culture of quality excellence, and ensure effective quality systems, controls and problem‑solving processes are embedded across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Quality Technician and Inspector team.
• Drive resolution of manufacturing, supplier and customer quality concerns through effective investigation and corrective action.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Logistics and Supplier Quality teams to improve product and process quality.
• Support defect reduction, scrap reduction and continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
• Monitor quality performance metrics, identify trends and drive improvement plans.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, engineering specifications and business processes.
• Lead quality containment, rework and recovery activities where required.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of actions.
• Manage supplier and sister plant quality performance and improvement activities.
• Provide quality reporting, technical guidance and recommendations to plant leadership.
• Authorise and maintain relevant quality documentation and approvals.
• Promote best practice, problem-solving and a culture of continuous improvement.

Experience Required

• Engineering qualification or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years' experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading teams and delivering quality improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of quality engineering principles, quality systems, manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T, and apply structured problem-solving techniques.
• Knowledge of quality planning tools and processes, including FMEA, Control Plans and PPAP.
• Strong analytical, decision‑making and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive improvements.
• Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office 365 and other engineering/manufacturing systems.
• Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and results‑focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Flexible approach to travel and working hours to support business and operational requirements.
