Job summary

Consortium Professional Recruitment is recruiting a Quality Engineering Lead for a highly regulated manufacturing environment in Hull. You will lead quality engineering activities, support operational excellence and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

You will work with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing performance, validate changes, manage risk and ensure products meet regulatory and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Science or related technical discipline.
  • Extensive experience in Quality Engineering, including senior/technical leadership.
  • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO quality management systems and statistical analysis.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt desirable.
  • Experience with SPC, process capability analysis, validation, risk management and structured problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Lead SPC, process capability and continuous improvement to improve quality and manufacturing performance.
  • Drive CAPA, root cause investigations and structured problem solving.
  • Provide quality leadership for product and process changes, validation activities and risk management.
  • Analyse process performance with statistical techniques to identify trends and reduce variation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and other stakeholders on quality risk and projects.
  • Act as technical quality expert during audits, investigations and management reviews, presenting metrics.
  • Mentor Quality Engineers and support operational teams to foster continuous improvement.

Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with our client to recruit a Quality Engineering Lead. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced quality professional to play a key role within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, leading quality engineering activities, supporting operational excellence and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

As a Quality Engineering Lead, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing performance, support product and process changes, and ensure products consistently meet quality, regulatory and customer requirements. This role offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership, mentor quality professionals and influence business-wide quality standards.

The Opportunity: As a Quality Engineering Lead, you'll play a key role in:
  • Leading Statistical Process Control (SPC), process capability and continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing performance and product quality.
  • Driving root cause investigations, CAPA activities and structured problem-solving using Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, 8D and other recognised quality methodologies.
  • Providing quality leadership for product and process changes, validation activities, risk management and new product introductions, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Analysing process performance using statistical techniques to identify trends, reduce variation and improve yield, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Partnering with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and other key stakeholders to improve process capability, manage quality risks and deliver successful projects.
  • Acting as a technical quality expert during audits, investigations and management reviews, presenting quality metrics and driving data‑led decision making.
  • Mentoring Quality Engineers and supporting the wider operational teams, fostering technical excellence and a culture of continuous improvement.

Your work will directly contribute to product quality, operational excellence, regulatory compliance and continuous business improvement.

We're looking for someone who can bring:
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Extensive experience within Quality Engineering, including previous experience in a senior or technical leadership capacity.
  • Experience working within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO quality management systems, statistical analysis, process control and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt as a minimum, with Black Belt highly desirable.
  • Experience using SPC, process capability analysis, validation, risk management and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to mentor others and influence across multiple functions.
