Job summary

Avanti Recruitment is partnering with a precision engineering business near Oxford to recruit a Quality Engineer. The role involves interpreting complex drawings and GD&T, supporting manufacturing quality, and driving corrective actions on NCRs.

You’ll work closely with production and engineering teams to uphold quality standards. Ideal candidates have practical, hands-on quality experience in a precision environment and familiarity with CMMs/PC-DMIS or ISO quality audits.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GD&T and interpreting complex engineering drawings.
• Hands-on manufacturing quality experience in engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Experience dealing with NCRs, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Experience in precision engineering or similarly complex environments (aerospace/defence/nuclear) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T to support manufacturing quality.
• Support day-to-day quality issues on the shop floor.
• Manage non-conformances and initiate corrective actions.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
• Support inspection, measurement activities and documentation.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure quality.

Avanti Recruitment is working with a Precision Engineering business based near Oxford who are hiring for a Quality Engineer to join the team.

The Role

• Interpreting complex engineering drawings and GD&T
• Supporting manufacturing with day-to-day quality issues
• Managing non-conformances and corrective actions
• Root cause analysis and problem solving
• Supporting inspection and measurement activities
• Producing and reviewing quality and inspection documentation
• Working closely with production and engineering teams
• Supporting customer and supplier quality requirements
• Contributing to quality systems and continuous improvement
• Supporting audits and quality control activities

What We're Looking For

• Quality Engineering experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of GD&T
• Confidence interpreting complex engineering drawings
• Practical, hands‑on manufacturing quality experience
• Experience dealing with NCRs, root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Experience within precision engineering, aerospace, defence, nuclear or another complex engineering environment
• A stable career history and an interest in a long-term permanent position
• Experience with CMMs, PC-DMIS, ISO standards or quality auditing would be beneficial.

Package

• Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience
• Holiday: 23 days plus bank holidays
• Pension: 4% matched following probation

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 4:30pm
• Friday: 8:00am to 3:30pm
• This is a fully onsite position
