Job summary

Avanti Recruitment Limited is working with a Precision Engineering business near Oxford to recruit a Quality Engineer. The role involves interpreting complex drawings and GD&T, supporting manufacturing quality issues, managing NCRs, and driving root cause analysis.

You will contribute to quality systems, support inspections, and work with production and engineering teams to meet customer and supplier quality requirements. On-site role with a strong focus on continuous improvement and audits.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality engineering within engineering/manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T.
• Hands-on manufacturing quality experience.
• Experience with NCRs and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.

Avanti Recruitment is working with a Precision Engineering business based near Oxford who are hiring for a Quality Engineer to join the team.

The Role

• Interpreting complex engineering drawings and GD&T
• Supporting manufacturing with day-to-day quality issues
• Managing non-conformances and corrective actions
• Root cause analysis and problem solving
• Supporting inspection and measurement activities
• Producing and reviewing quality and inspection documentation
• Working closely with production and engineering teams
• Supporting customer and supplier quality requirements
• Contributing to quality systems and continuous improvement
• Supporting audits and quality control activities

What We're Looking For

• Quality Engineering experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of GD&T
• Confidence interpreting complex engineering drawings
• Practical, hands‑on manufacturing quality experience
• Experience dealing with NCRs, root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Experience within precision engineering, aerospace, defence, nuclear or another complex engineering environment
• A stable career history and an interest in a long-term permanent position
• Experience with CMMs, PC-DMIS, ISO standards or quality auditing would be beneficial.

Package

• Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience
• Holiday: 23 days plus bank holidays
• Pension: 4% matched following probation

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 4:30pm
• Friday: 8:00am to 3:30pm
• This is a fully onsite position
