Job summary

COBA Automotive Ltd in the United Kingdom seeks a Quality Engineer (Materials Focus) to join the Quality Team. You will support materials development, ensure product compliance, assist testing activities and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will work with customers and suppliers, take ownership of projects and use Microsoft 365 tools to document findings. Manufacturing experience and QA tools knowledge are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or equivalent; strong polymer knowledge.
• Enjoys problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Able to work independently and own projects.

Responsibilities

• Support materials development and product compliance activities.
• Assist testing efforts and data collection for quality records.
• Drive continuous improvement projects and day-to-day QA tasks.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and internal teams to improve quality.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer (Materials Focus) to join our Quality Team at COBA Automotive. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will support materials development, product compliance, testing activities, continuous improvement projects and day-to-day quality assurance activities. The role offers the chance to work closely with customers, suppliers and colleagues across the business, helping to drive quality, innovation and operational excellence.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

• Holds a degree in Chemistry or an equivalent qualification with strong polymer knowledge.
• Enjoys problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Has strong communication and organisational skills.
• Can work independently and take ownership of projects.
• Is proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.

Manufacturing experience and knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, APQP, SPC, MSA or 8D problem solving would be advantageous but are not essential, as full training will be provided.

Employment Type:Full Time

Working Hours:08:30 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:30 – 16:00 Friday – 30 minutes lunch break.
