Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Quality Engineer for a 6-month contract in Prestwick. The role pays £33 per hour and is Outside IR35.

The incumbent will support CAPA, MRB, and QA processes, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements (AS9100 Rev D, EASA Part 21G). The position emphasizes problem solving, data analysis, and liaison with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Experience with aerospace QA systems (AS9100 Rev D) and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with Corrective and Preventive Action processes.
• Familiarity with inspection planning, LAI and FAI/FAV programs.
• Customer and supplier quality liaison experience.
• Experience with PFMEA, SPC and APQP/PPAP.

Responsibilities

• Support CAPA processes and identify root causes for non-conformances.
• Manage MRB items and establish robust corrective actions.
• Ensure QA processes meet customer and regulatory requirements (EASA Part 21G, AS9100 Rev D).
• Analyze performance data to improve process capability and product quality.
• Generate and maintain inspection plans, LAI and FAI/FAI/FAV programs.
• Maintain QMS procedures and project quality policies.
• Act as Quality focal point for customers, suppliers and authorities.
• Support PFMEA, SPC within APQP/PPAP frameworks.
• Communicate effectively with key support functions.

Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Quality Engineer for a 6 month role in Prestwick.

£33 per hour

Outside IR35

Role PurposeAccountable for Quality Engineering activities within the assigned project, supporting operational requirements and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.Assists in controlling manufacturing processes and applying problem-solving and continuous improvement tools.Provides support in the development and deployment of the Quality Policy and Strategy, supports key project quality activities, and ensures that project quality issues are effectively identified, reported, and managed.

• Support the delivery of a robust Corrective and Preventive Action process which establishes clear Root Cause and identifies effective solutions for Internal, Customer and Supplier Product Quality non-conformances.
• Manage the Material Review Board (MRB) process and ensure that all items are appropriately dispositioned and robust corrective action is established and effectively discharged.
• Support production activities, ensuring all Quality Engineering processes are effectively deployed in line with the customer and regulatory authority requirements, such as EASA Part 21G and AS9100 Rev D.
• Analyse and compile performance reports and process control statistics in order to determine and improve process capability or product quality.
• To ensure appropriate inspection planning, Last Article Inspection (LAI) and First Article Inspection/Verification (FAI/FAV) and delegated source inspection programmes are generated and maintained by the project.
• Take the appropriate action to review and maintain the QMS and assist the project in the development, deployment and maintenance of relevant project quality policies and procedures.
• Provide support to the project in relation to being the Quality focal point for the customer, suppliers and regulatory authorities as appropriate.
• Support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC) as part of overarching Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for key products.
• Effective communication with key support functions is essential
• Experience of Boeing product is preferable, however not essential.
