Job summary

Workforce Staffing is seeking a proactive Quality Engineer for a manufacturing environment in the UK. You will maintain the QMS, investigate customer concerns, and drive continual improvement across production, engineering and logistics teams.

You will support audits, document control, and CAPA processes, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, UL and ATEX. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS EN ISO 9001 knowledge and experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quality Engineering role or equivalent.
• Experience working in manufacturing/engineering environment (cable management, electrical, construction products or similar).
• Experience investigating customer complaints and internal non-conformances.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection standards and technical requirements.
• Knowledge of PPAP, FAI, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams and FMEA.
• Competent with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Cross-functional collaboration experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ISO 9001, UL and ATEX requirements, and support certification needs.
• Coordinate containment, corrective and preventive actions with timely closure and verification of effectiveness.
• Lead investigations into customer complaints and internal non-conformances using structured problem-solving techniques.
• Provide hands-on quality engineering support to Production, Assembly, Warehouse, Technical and Engineering teams.
• Support the Quality Lead in delivering quality objectives and continual improvement initiatives.
• Support first-off, in-process and final inspection activities, product validation, testing, traceability checks and product release.
• Prepare, review and maintain quality documentation (procedures, work instructions, control plans, inspection records, COOs, MTCs, PPAP, FAI, customer packs).
• Conduct internal audits and support external and customer audits, raising findings and following up corrective actions.
• Monitor and report quality performance through KPIs and trend analysis.
• Support initiatives to reduce defects, repeat issues, and Cost of Poor Quality.
• Conduct product testing and evaluation to verify conformance with specifications.
