Job summary

NRL Group is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support delivery of a major engineering project based in Reading. You will coordinate quality activities across the full project lifecycle, from design and procurement through construction, commissioning and final handover, ensuring compliance with project requirements and client expectations.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years in a Quality Engineer role, with Civil Nuclear and Defence experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years in a Quality Engineer role.
• Civil Nuclear and Defence environments experience.
• Experience conducting supplier and internal audits.
• Experience supporting third-party ISO 9001 audits.
• Strong experience developing quality procedures, ITPs and Project Quality Plans.
• Good knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and ensure ITPs are aligned with project requirements.
• Compile and maintain Lifetime Records alongside construction activities.
• Convey quality and documentation requirements to suppliers.
• Manage supply chain quality, supplier assessments and audits.
• Address defects, non-conformances and improvement notices; support corrective actions.
• Produce quality documentation: ITPs, Project Quality Plans, procedures and work instructions.
• Oversee quality planning for manufacturing and on-site installation activities.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, support ISO 9001 audits.
• Coordinate reviews of manufacturing documentation.
• Support Client Feedback Process as needed.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality issues.
