Job summary

Westlakes Recruit is recruiting for a Quality Engineer to support a major UK nuclear new build programme. The role focuses on delivering robust quality arrangements across engineering, construction and supply chain activities, with nuclear safety central to all tasks.

You will work within a multidisciplinary project environment, providing expertise to ensure work scopes are delivered safely, compliantly and right first time, within a complex matrix organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience in nuclear, engineering, construction, or regulated environments.
• Proven background in Quality Engineering/QA/Quality Management.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
• Ideally knowledge of ISO 19443:2018.
• Experience with inspection, testing, quality documentation and non-conformance management.
• Interface with suppliers and project delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of project quality processes and arrangements.
• Provide quality engineering support across nuclear project delivery activities.
• Review quality documentation, procedures, inspection and test requirements.
• Monitor quality performance and identify improvements.
• Support risk-based quality management and mitigation of quality risks.
• Assist investigation and resolution of non-conformances and quality issues.
• Work with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
• Support quality assurance, surveillance, inspection and audit activities.
• Provide quality input into engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
• Provide clear reporting and escalation of quality issues.
