Job summary

Bamford Contract Services Ltd is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Quality Assurance team in Rochdale. The role focuses on improving product and process quality across manufacturing, leading customer quality investigations, and supporting NPI to ensure quality requirements are met during launches.

Ideal candidates will have automotive or high-volume manufacturing experience, strong problem-solving and data analysis skills, and familiarity with ISO standards, APQP/PPAP, and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (or equivalent industry experience).
• Experience with IATF 16949 Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC and MSA).
• Background in automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis and data analysis skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, ERP systems and customer quality portals.

Responsibilities

• Support and improve product and process quality across manufacturing operations.
• Lead customer quality investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring quality requirements for launches.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Customers and Suppliers to drive quality improvements.
• Analyse quality data and customer scorecards, identifying trends and reporting KPIs.
• Conduct internal and external quality audits in line with ISO standards.
• Support supplier quality activities and promote continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and company quality standards.
