Job summary

Umicore Electro Optic Materials in Dundee is seeking a Quality Engineer to support and improve product and process quality across manufacturing. You will work with Production, Technical, Quality, Suppliers and Customers to ensure compliance with requirements and drive improvements end-to-end.

Qualifications

• Excellent IT skills with proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods (e.g. Minitab, SigmaXL).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
• Understanding of Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence in precision manufacturing.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Understanding of Six Sigma methodologies.
• Ability to work with multi-national sites and personnel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ensuring products are manufactured in accordance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Support incoming, in-process and final inspection activities.
• Carry out incoming inspections of raw materials and materials; record data to evaluate supplier performance.
• Collaborate with production to improve process capability and product quality.
• Identify and implement improvements to goods-in to goods-out flows.
• Support post-processing activities including batch scanning and baking.
• Collect, analyse and interpret quality data to identify trends and improvements.
• Maintain accurate quality records and ensure results are documented.
• Support root cause investigations and 8D investigations as needed.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across production and oversee operational excellence projects.
