Job summary

Optimas Gloucester is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our on-site team. You will lead containment, RCA, and 8D investigations for nonconformances, coordinate with customers and suppliers, and drive cost recovery initiatives while ensuring timely product quality releases.

The role requires Level 5 quality/engineering qualifications, knowledge of QMS, APQP/FMEA/PPAP, and the ability to travel and work away from home. Strong communication andExcel/PowerPoint skills are essential.

Qualifications

Requires Level 5 quality/engineering qualification and previous quality experience.
Experience with 8D/A3 problem solving and PPAP/APQP processes.
Automotive experience preferred but not required; strong knowledge of QMS.

Responsibilities

Lead 8D/problem-solving activities to resolve nonconformances with the aim of containment, RCA and closure within target timelines.
Be the direct on-site contact point for customers and provide on-site support when needed.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure rapid resolution of product issues and document corrective actions.
Manage cost recovery related to quality concerns and ensure targets are met.
Dispozition and disposition of suspect/failed products in a timely manner.
Oversee quality release activities for new or changed products.
Collaborate with peers and other departments to deliver wider business objectives (THREAD).
