Job summary

Tracerco is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead our quality assurance efforts, maintain the QMS, and drive improvements across manufacturing and supplier quality. You will champion ISO 9001 and manage audits, data analysis, and corrective actions.

In this role you will collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement to embed quality at every stage, investigate non-conformances, and foster a culture of operational excellence with a proactive mindset.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering or technical discipline (desirable)
  • Experience in quality assurance and improvement methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and QMS management

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • Plan, execute, and follow up on internal and external audits
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances
  • Collaborate with suppliers to uphold quality standards
  • Identify trends, analyse data, and implement proactive solutions to enhance product and process quality
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to embed quality into every stage of the value chain

Job Description

As a Quality Engineer, you will be at the heart of our commitment to excellence. You’ll lead the charge in ensuring our products, processes, and partnerships meet the highest standards. From managing our Quality Management System (QMS) to spearheading audits and supplier quality initiatives, your work will directly influence our operational success and customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent standard in an engineering or technical discipline [Desirable].
  • Certified Lead Auditor by an external body such LRQA [Desirable].
  • Understanding of the global oil and gas industry [Desirable].
  • Knowledge of hazardous area standard BS EN 80079:34 [Desirable].
  • Strong understanding of compliance and quality management standards.
  • Experience in quality assurance, and improvement methodologies.
  • Solutions Driven with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Certified Internal Auditor with demonstrable experience of non-conformance and incident investigation.
  • Demonstrable experience of championing quality culture in a business.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment working with key suppliers to ensure quality standards.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience of working in a professional environment and in a self-motivated, results-driven with a can-do attitude.
  • A strong capability in performing data analysis, creating bespoke reports by use of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams,).

  • Champion Quality: Own and manage the ISO 9001 accredited Quality Management System, ensuring it evolves with our business.
  • Audit with Impact: Plan, execute, and follow up on internal and external audits, driving accountability and improvement.
  • Investigate & Innovate: Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances, turning challenges into opportunities.
  • Supplier Quality Leadership: Collaborate with suppliers to uphold quality standards, conduct assessments, and drive performance improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify trends, analyse data, and implement proactive solutions to enhance product and process quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to embed quality into every stage of the value chain.
  • Proven experience in a quality engineering role within industrial or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and hands-on experience managing QMS.
  • Expertise in internal and external auditing, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Solid background in supplier quality management and performance monitoring.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Have the ability and resilience to work on your own or part of a team.
