Job summary

The Openwork Partnership is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Swindon. You will design and maintain automated tests across unit, API and end-to-end layers, embed quality checks in CI/CD, and collaborate with developers to prevent issues before production.

This hybrid role requires 1–3 days in the Swindon office and a proactive, engineering-first approach to quality. You’ll bring .NET development experience, hands-on automation testing, and a track record of building

• Working with Developers and Analysts to identify quality risk issues early in the development process.
• Proven track record of creating and maintaining automated test frameworks within production environments.
• Experience working as part of an Agile engineering team.

Job description

As a Quality Engineer, you will be a key member of the Engineering Team, helping Developers create high-quality solutions through automation, collaboration and continuous improvement. This isn't a traditional testing role. We're looking for someone who seems themselves as an Engineer first, with a passion for Quality. You will work closely with Developers, build automated testing solutions, improve CI/CD pipelines, and help prevent issues before they reach production. Please note, this is a hybrid role in Swindon which will require 1-3 days a week in the office depending on work requirements.,

• Designing, building and maintaining automated tests across unit, integration, API and end-to-end testing
• Embedding quality checks and automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Working with Developers and Analysts to identify quality risk issues early in the development process
• Supporting observability through logging, monitoring and alerting
• Exploring and implementing AI-assisted testing approaches where appropriate
• Defining and evolving the team's testing strategy and quality standards
• Collaborating with other Quality Engineers to improve quality practices across the wider technology function
• Experience working as a Quality Engineer, Software Developer in Test or similar role
• Experience in .NET development and automated testing is key
• End-to-end testing using Playwright, Selenium or similar is beneficial
• Proven track record of creating and maintaining automated test frameworks within production environments
• Experience working as part of an Agile engineering team

Salary & Benefits

• Salary - Up to £55,000 depending on experience
• Bonus scheme - on target bonus - 10%
• Pension scheme - contribute up to 5% of your salary and Openwork will match you and put in an extra 5%
