Job summary

Oliver Rae is seeking a Quality Engineer in Stourbridge to lead quality data generation, analysis and reporting. You will head root-cause analysis teams, implement process controls, and manage non-conformances across the casting operations.

The role requires hands-on QA experience with ductile iron foundries, capability to drive corrective actions, and collaboration with stakeholders during audits and improvements. A Monday–Friday, 40-hour week is expected.

Qualifications

  • Proven technical foundry knowledge associated with production processes, foundry capabilities and controls for high integrity ductile iron.
  • Ability to facilitate Lean / Root cause analysis projects.
  • ITAF and ISO Awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Generate, control, monitor, reporting, and review quality data to identify and communicate trends.
  • Lead RCA teams in identifying and resolving quality issues using tools like 5 whys, 8D and corrective action tracking.
  • Maintain communication of internal and external rejects to stakeholders.
  • Implement process controls.
  • Record and control internal and external rejects and their disposition.
  • Conduct scrap and customer return reviews.
  • Generate quality documents such as quality alerts/SOPs.
  • Upkeep of quality data and reporting to the business.
  • Perform physical measurements with basic inspection equipment.
  • Audit processes to ensure compliance to the process.
  • Input data and compliance docs into QMS.
  • Drive improvements to eliminate non-conformances.
  • Track effectiveness of improvements and corrective actions.
  • Identify product, process, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Reduce variability in casting quality through quality system improvements.
  • Devise procedures to inspect and report quality issues.
  • Manage Standard work documentation.
  • Develop documentation to support product development.
  • Participate in customer audit visits and assessments.

Brief Description of Job Duties
  • Generating, controlling, monitoring, reporting, and reviewing quality data to identify and communicate trends.

  • Controlling and tracking the effectiveness of improvements and corrective actions.
  • Identifying product, process, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Reducing variability in casting quality through active pursuit of improvements to our quality system and process controls.
