Job summary

Pertemps Bond is seeking a Quality Engineer for its Redditch-based manufacturing facility. The role is days, Monday to Friday, with a salary up to £45k and a focus on defect prevention, 8D investigations, and continuous improvement.

You will interpret drawings and standards (ISO9001, AS9100, NADCAP), lead investigations, implement corrective actions with production and engineering, and prepare for third-party audits.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and customer quality requirements.
• Practical experience with 8D, Fishbone and 5 Whys analysis.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 and NADCAP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identify quality issues, process weaknesses and opportunities for permanent defect prevention.
• Lead internal 8D investigations for internal, customer and supplier non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions.
• Apply 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone analysis and mistake-proofing to eliminate defects.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to implement improvements and verify effectiveness of actions.
• Investigate, document and close non-conformances, addressing root cause.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 and NADCAP requirements.
• Support NADCAP heat treatment compliance, process controls and audits.
• Support tensile testing, review results and assess customer requirements.

The client is a renowned and leading manufacturer of small pressings, stampings and wire forms for numerous industry sectors including aerospace, defence and medical.

Quality Engineer

The role is on Days – Monday to Friday

Salary up to £45k.

Duties and key responsibilities;

• Identify quality issues, process weakness and opportunities for permanent defect prevention.
• Lead internal 8D investigations for internal, customer and supplier non-conformances, ensuring non cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Apply 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone analysis and mistake proofing to eliminate defects.
• Work with production and engineering teams to implement process improvements and verify that corrective actions are effective and sustained.
• Investigate, document and drive timely closure of internal, supplier, and customer non-conformance, ensuring the address of root cause.
• Develop and maintain working knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100, NADCAP requirements and nominated customer specifications relevant to the role.
• Support NADCAP heat treatment compliance, process controls, and audit readiness, including preparation for third party audits.
• Support tensile testing activities, review results, assessment of customer requirements and escalation of any concerns.

Experience and skills required

• Previous working experience of working as a quality engineer within a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, customer specifications and quality requirements.
• Practical experience of root cause analysis methods such as 8D, Fishbone & 5 Whys.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to prevention of defects.
• Commitment to continuous improvements and to develop a strong quality culture.
• Computer literate – including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience within a pressings or spring environment is desirable.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 & NADCAP is advantageous.

The role is based in Redditch so would easily be commutable from Brimingham, Bromsgrove, Solihull, Dudley, Alcester, Worcester, Droitwich, West Bromwich, Stratford upon Avon.
