Job summary

MTrec Ltd is recruiting a Production Team Leader to oversee day-to-day operations on the day shift within a specialist manufacturing environment. You will lead skilled operatives, drive quality systems, and ensure PPAP and PFMEA processes meet customer and IATF 16949 requirements.

You will coordinate with Quality Engineers, liaise with customers and suppliers, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quality Engineer or similar in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 standards.
• Proven leadership with strong communication.
• Experience developing PPAP documentation including PFMEA and Control Plans.
• Experience applying quality tools such as 8D analysis and Poka-Yoke.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve quality objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain product assurance systems to meet IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
• Lead a culture of defect prevention, continuous improvement, and waste reduction.
• Apply core quality tools including SPC, Pareto, histograms, scatter diagrams, and stratification.
• Support manufacturing teams in timely resolution of internal and customer quality issues.
• Support NPI activities including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, gauge planning, and capability studies.
• Incorporate lessons learned to identify and prevent potential failure modes.
• Conduct internal audits and promote compliance with company systems, procedures, and quality requirements.
• Analyse and communicate quality/process data to senior management and drive improvement actions.
• Programme and perform routine CMM measurements and support NPI measurement capability studies.
• Support the Quality Manager in coordinating Quality Engineers and Laboratory Supervisors.
• Liaise directly with customers and suppliers to investigate and resolve quality concerns.

About you:

• Experience working as a Quality Engineer or similar within an engineering/manufacturing environment
• An understanding and knowledge of IATF 16949 standards
• Proven leadership capability with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective resource planning and prioritisation, managing competing demands and multiple deliverables.
• Strong knowledge and experience in developing PPAP documentation, including PFMEA and Control Plans.
• Practical experience applying quality tools and techniques, including 8D analysis and Poka-Yoke.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business and quality objectives
